Giving Back to Wounded Knee Foundation

We took a semi-truck load of 20,000 items out to the Wounded Knee District School "WARRIORS" Gymnasium under the auspices of Ms. Marnee White Wolf, Principal, who allowed set-up outside and inside the school on the morning of June 18. As it happened, there was a group of young adults from the Westby Coon Prairie and Vang Lutheran Parish, Westby Wisconsin, who had just completed painting the school classrooms as an outreach project for the church and between all of them, they unloaded our truck in a matter of minutes.

Everything was all set up and ready for distribution of household goods, furnishings, sleeping bags, fans, fax machines, color TV's, children's car seats, strollers, cribs, beds, bedding and linens, beautiful clothing in A-1 condition, winter coats and sweaters, snowsuits and boots, hats, gloves, mittens, 80 FULL SETS OF CHINA and porcelain dinnerware plus 500 extra bowls, platters, cups and saucers, glassware, serving dishes, utensils, knives, quilts, blankets, books.

Included were 13 brand new Huffy bicycles for boys and girls which were raffled off, beautiful porcelain Native Amerian Indian dolls for little girls, pots and pans, canning pots, soup pots, tons of clothing such as dining room sets, living room sets, chairs, dressers, side tables, wall paintings -- it was excitingly successful -- in fact 80% of all ittems had been taken by needy families by 1 pm on the day of setup (Friday, June 18).
